The lines people write in the tone of poetry,
Always remind me of narcissism when I think of them,
But truth has revealed itself to me,
It seems to be more than that,
It seems to be that it is used as a veil for pure emotion,
Of the writer.
It is a guise for their truth,
That they cannot bear to slap verbatim onto a page,
So that when the time comes that they are asked,
What it means,
They can respond in kind to their own defenses and priorities,
Without lifting the curtain.
